V for Vendetta

Beneath this mask, there is an idea… and ideas are bulletproof. Returning to cinemas two decades on from its release, Australian director James McTeigue’s critically acclaimed dystopian thriller V FOR VENDETTA, a dark, stylized, provocative and visually exhilarating adventure. Following the world war, London is a police state occupied by a fascist government, and a vigilante known only as V conducts guerrilla warfare against the oppressors of the world in which he now lives. When V saves a young woman named Evey from the secret police, he discovers an ally in his fight against England's oppressors. Featuring outstanding and powerful performances from Academy Award winner Natalie Portman and Australian screen legend Hugo Weaving, V FOR VENDETTA is a striking political thriller, filled with riveting visuals, a brilliant screenplay and a message that becomes increasingly more relevant in the current decade. It is a reminder of our vulnerability as a species, as a society, and of our own will, reminding us to continue the fight against our oppressors, and to keep in our minds the true value of our freedom.
