Renowned writer Susan Orlean has made a career in stories. From her incisive New Yorker articles to her acclaimed nonfiction books, including The Orchid Thief (adapted into the Oscar-winning 2002 film Adaptation), Orlean’s narrative nonfiction has taken readers everywhere from Mount Fuji to inside the mind of a ten-year-old American boy. Her brilliant new book, Joyride, isn’t just a warm and candid memoir of creativity and curiosity – it’s also a captivating tribute to the golden age of journalism.
