Movie Mixer: Verity

Enjoy a complimentary mystery (?) cocktail on arrival! Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, VERITY is a dark, psychologically charged thriller directed by Michael Showalter, starring Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett. Struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh (Johnson) is offered a career-defining opportunity to complete a successful book series left unfinished by its author, Verity Crawford (Hathaway), following a mysterious accident. Relocating to the Crawford family’s secluded estate, Lowen uncovers a hidden manuscript filled with disturbing confessions that dissolve the line between fiction and reality, drawing her deeper into a world that feels increasingly unstable. As she becomes entangled in the household and increasingly drawn to Verity’s husband Jeremy (Hartnett), a growing sense of unease takes hold. What unfolds is a tense descent into obsession, where desire, manipulation and truth intertwine in increasingly dangerous ways. VERITY leaves you questioning what you’ve read, and what was ever real to begin with.
