Are you new to the Coast? Work from home and going stir crazy? Single? Travelling through in a van? Visiting from overseas? Or just keen to meet people on the same vibe? A bit like a proper European dining table conversation, a country town dinner gathering around a long wooden table. a French l'aperitif (but common to so many cultures worldwide from Arabic to Asia and Europe.) On parle, on mange, on boit, on discute. Note rescheduled to 7 Nov. But with strupture. So far we have had a real cast of characters from all backgrounds, making convos interesting. How it works Maybe you like LPs, organic food, film, cameras, music, books, art, or old-school conversation. All of these are topics we go thru. The conversation is the event. The vibe is analog. Ie not online. Whatever that means to you. Real people. Real conversations. Phones stay in your pocket until the last 5 minutes. No screens. More human. Shy is fine. Limited English is fine. Come and practice. No judgement. It's Saturday afternoon fortnightly. And special events on other date times. The meetup is held in a bar cafes, you can simply grab a coffee, tea, or non-alcoholic or alcoholic drink. There's great food options from finger foods to burgers and vegetarian options. Cocktails and mocktails if feeling fancy. Near public transport. Come along. Have a chat. Meet some interesting people. Bring a kooky friend. --- Why I started this I created this because it was the sort of group I was looking for and could not find on the Coast. The Sunshine Coast is beautiful. but sometimes it can feel like everything closes early and social life takes a bit of effort. This is a low-key, intentional social club built around conversation, activities, and meeting good people. No selling. No hidden agenda. Just a place to show up, chat, and see what grows. --- The Format Each meetup runs for 90 minutes. Arrive Order food and drinks by QR code, general chit chat. Welcome Phones away! If not film choose a book or music album. Convo Booster A surprise topic if conversations slow down. The Pitt Books, films, and things worth sharing. Guests can bring random meaningful items provided they are not selling the item. (no spruiking) Takeaways Share something you enjoyed or learned.
