No Skips - Listen 004

Wed 28 Oct, 6:00 PM AEST, Peregian Beach
For this opportunity we will have Tomás Barbera as our host: an incredible musician and song writer, part of The Lipsticks Band and Karaka Orchestra amongst other projects, and friend of the NO SKIPS family. What album will he share? People today listen to music while doing something else, in apps designed to make the user skip discomfort until you find what you 'like', given by algorithms, commanding passive listening, cultivating the impossibility of recognising the artists name, song name, lyrics, or even if it is a real artist anymore.

Sunshine Coast Claude Code Hands-on Workshop

Wed 28 Oct, 12:01 PM AEST, Sunshine Coast
If you have been curious about how to integrate Claude into your development workflow, come join us for a practical, hands-on session. We are hosting a workshop for the Sunshine Coast Claude Code Builders Club to look at the new Claude Code tool in a real-world setting. Whether you have already started tinkering with it or are just looking to see how it handles specific tasks, this is a space to explore the features, share what you have learned so far, and troubleshoot any blockers together. This event is for anyone in our community who enjoys building with AI-assisted tools and wants to connect with local developers. We will spend the time coding, testing prompts, and discussing how to best leverage Claude within a project environment. Please bring your laptop and any specific code snippets or ideas you want to experiment with during the session. It should be a productive few hours of collaborative work. If you are planning to come along, please let us know by hitting the RSVP button so we have an idea of how many people to expect. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Palmwoods Open Mic Night

Wed 28 Oct, 6:00 PM AEST
Thought I’d try this with the new Blues Immersion thing just starting, and noticing a few other Aussies around the JG community - anyone on the Sunshine Coast want to meet up & jam some time? I’m in the northern end of the SC. It would be pretty cool to meet and jam some blues, but really, I’m OK with playing or jamming anything. Whatever your skill level, early beginner through to pros, I’m not fussed. I’ve been playing just over 2 1/2 years.

RunNation Film Festival 2026

Wed 28 Oct, 7:00 PM AEST
RunNation Film Festival Presented by Yeah Buddy is back for its 12th year, and we’d love for you to join us. This is a film festival that brings people together through stories about running – not just races, but the reasons we run, the places it takes us, and the people we meet along the way. Join us for a night of community connection, inspiring film and great prizes from our passionate partners. We hope to see you there. Prizes to win on the night include Yeah Buddy Cap x 2, Yeah Buddy Beanie, Lachlan Stuart’s “State of Mind” Book, Wild Earth Prize Bag containing (snake bite bandage, ice bandanna, Shoe Laces, Socks, Emergency Blanket), Osprey Belt, Petzl Tikka CORE Headlamp, Trail Run Magazine Subscription and Adventure + Subscription.
