The bell rings again! Celebrate 50 years of one of cinema’s greatest underdog stories as Sylvester Stallone’s legendary Rocky returns to Palace for a special Cult Vault Anniversary screening on Sunday 8 November, ahead of the highly anticipated release of I Play Rocky. Winner of three Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for John G. Avildsen, Rocky follows small-time Philadelphia boxer Rocky Balboa (Stallone), who gets the chance of a lifetime when he’s offered a shot at heavyweight champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). With the odds stacked against him and everything to prove, Rocky embarks on a gruelling journey of determination, courage and self-belief, finding unexpected love with the shy Adrian (Talia Shire) and discovering that sometimes going the distance is the greatest victory of all. Screenings at 2:00pm at Balwyn, Church St, Como, Westgarth, Pentridge, Penny Lane and The Kino. Tickets: General Prices.
